I recently visited Tula's kremlin - part of the inner kremlin territory is dedicated to a two-storey arms museum.

Tula is known as a center for Russian firepower industry since XVIIIth century, it also became one of the core center of arms industry after the Soviet modernization.

Currently the museum also has multiple pieces of foreign arms as well, from early XVIIth century to modern era.

At that time, firearms haven't fully replaced spears and other thrown weapons, which could be thrown faster and were more precise (early guns would miss the target at a distance further than 100 meters)
