An up-and-comer in the world of documentary film-making, Cornelio is also something of an enigma. Is he a lazy, drunken Mexican working with cameras stolen from Vincent Gallo, who he purportedly met during a Madrid piss up, or a 21st century Spanish visionary whose ideas won't be correctly comprehended for at least another 25 years? His latest film won't answer this question; an early cut screened at Cannes was a Foghorn Leghorn cartoon with a Manowar song roughly synched over top. The version now appearing online is completely different,a stream of consciousness swirl that caused both Harmony Korine and Uwe Boll to renounce their occupations. Occidental Dissent has been wary of tipping their hand as to whether Decline and Fall is the film of the year, but this reviewer is not so hesitant. Docked half a star for blatant appropriation of Dark Enlightenment theory.
All those piles of trash represent the modern world. The van represents Tradition, a way to navigate through a damned epoch undaunted by its perils. Or some shit like that.
