Isn't one of the points of independence is that it doesn't matter what gender you are? It's as if men have the innate ability to be independent and women don't. Do they need a specialized education for them because of their "disadvantaged status" in society or some failing innate in their being?
I don't get it. Boys and girls are treated the same, for the most part from birth to high school graduation. In a society obsessed with egalitarianism, why is there "female" independence?
